Here Am I

a poem on abiding in Christ

Here am I, 
Oh Father in Heaven.
A degenerate 
Who’s been regenerated.
A debased, 
Reprobate mind,
Made whole 
Made sound.
For I once was lost,
But now 
I’m found,
In You. 

You gave Your life
For mine.
A cosmic trade 
A blessed exchange 
With the Divine,
A Savior 
For a sinner. 
Once depraved,
Now forgiven,
In You.

All my shame
Has been released. 
You took my regret,
My chaos,
My pain and grief,
And gave me rest,
Oh, Prince of Peace,
And I will rest,
Eternally,
In You.
